Fannish Fifty Challenge: Post # 12: Fandom Has Enriched My Life

Yesterday I posted on LJ about it being my 12th LJversary and that it pretty much coincides with my general fanniversary. I want to share here that one of the comments I received (from grey853) was "Oh, happy day! I hope fandom has enriched your life as much as it has mine," and I want to share here the comment I made back to her. I responded with "Yes, fandom has enriched my life so much: given me a sense of community, widened my circle of friends, sparked my creativity, turned me into a traveller who attends cons and who gets invited to visit fan-friends both in my home country and abroad. (And I embody my fandom love 24/7 with my due South tattoos on both arms from shoulder to wrist.)

Huzzah! I mean, fandom led us to befriend each other... and discover we lived in the same town, lol! Perfect for getting together for fannish and friendship reasons... and even if we don't live in the same town anymore, we still live in adjoining towns! 🙂

I envy your fannish ink... I just still haven't gotten past that tattoo "what if I don't like it and it's permanent??" block in my mind yet.
