Meep! July has nearly gotten away from me without my posting about a bunch of fannish things that I wanted to post. And why stop there, with meeping about July -- I am months behind in posting things going all the way back to January's Firewhiskey Fic competition where my Goncharov fic took first place in two categories and I still haven't posted my winner banners here and haven't uploaded the fic to AO3 yet.

And today is going to be another day of not playing catch-up because my day is mostly going to be divided between fic-finishing for this weekend's Con*Strict eZine deadline and cleaning my basement again after the third time we had flash floods and got water in the basement this month.

At least the water didn't reach our beer-and-wine cellar this time, so I have plans for later today for a nice Riesling that I bought at a winery in Pahrump, Nevada while I was in Nevada for Con*Strict.

Driving home from work last night in that crazy storm with me windshield wipers on the fastest setting, I was so afraid my basement would be flooding. & I was thinking, Oh, no, Ride will be flooding too...

Got home & luckily it wasn't... At least not by rain.

But the dog pooped & peed in the basement (helpfully by the drain🙂), I don't get why... He went out five times yesterday before I left for work. Maybe scared? He's not usually frightened of thunderstorms, but the amount of lightning & rain was unbelievable. I almost didn't need headlights or street lights, there was enough lighting to light my way home in the dark.

I'm sorry your basement flooded again.
