Gladiator AU fics that I have loved.

Note that the due South fic is a WIP with six chapters written of ten chapters intended.

Leverage Gladiator AU on AO3 "Together" by bigsunglasses. Per the author: The arena is not a good place to be. The only way to survive it is together. A Roman-ish AU. Eliot, Parker and Hardison fighting as gladiators.

due South Gladiator AU on AO3 "When We Get to Syracuse" by vivarocksteady. Per the author: An Ancient Rome/gladiator AU. This is a fusion fic where our heroes from due South are living in the world of the hyper-violent Starz series “Spartacus.” You do not need to be familiar with “Spartacus” to read this fic. “Spartacus” itself does not hew particularly close to history, and this fic is leaning towards a more hopeful ending, so we’re abandoning historical accuracy here.

I'm not the fan fic reader AUs are looking for (never mind, the rest of fandom LOVES them) but gladiator AUs really never occurred to me.

LOL, I am amused by your spin on that Jedi mind-trick.

And as for Gladiator AUs never having occurred to you, well, it's like what Internet Rules 64 and 65 say. (Internet Rule 64: If it exists, there's an AU of it. Internet Rule 65: If there isn't, there will be.)

Honestly, I think it's less that it didn't occur to me - welcome to Fandomland - and more it's one I've never run across in any of my fandoms. There are the really old fandoms where everything shows up sooner or later and then fandoms where the AUs fall into very specific groups. ;D

Heh, the very first gladiator AU I ever encountered was in PoI (and you know Reese would be a hella gladiator). If I could have remembered how to find that fic I would have included it with these recs.

I probably didn't even see it as I filter out all AUs that aren't canon divergence.

He would look good in a Pteruges though. ;D
