signal boost for supporting the OTW
Nov. 28th, 2014 11:06 pmOrganization for Transformative Works (OTW) is now part of the Amazon Smile Program!
Amazon Smile is a program set up by Amazon that allows you to donate to a charitable organization every time you shop, AT NO COST TO YOU. There are currently nearly one million organizations participating, and now the OTW is one of them!
How to use Amazon Smile: go to http://smile.amazon.com from the web browser on your computer or mobile device. The site has the same products and services as the usual Amazon domain, many of which will be marked “Eligible for Amazon Smile donation” on their product detail pages. (Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible.) The Amazon Smile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible Amazon Smile purchases to the charity of your choice. If you have an existing Amazon.com account, all details will remain the same including your shopping cart, Wish List, and registry. On your first visit to Amazon Smile you will be asked to select a charitable organization. Enter "The Organization For Transformative Works Inc" in the search field. That's it!
(At this time, Amazon Smile is only available to users of the U.S. site, and Amazon Smile is the only retail program through which the OTW receives donations. If you have suggestions of other programs, please let the OTW know. You can also donate directly to the OTW at any time of year through their donation page.)

There's this awesome fanfiction archive that gazillions of fen use, and it just keeps getting bigger. There's also this open source journal that was free and online since before everybody was talking about open source academia. There's this legal team that's weighed in on many issues relevant to fen and this amazing wiki which has huge amounts of information. There's just seriously a lot of good stuff happening in, around, and through the OTW. And while the people work for free, the tools and the space and the servers and the bandwidth cost money, so if you like or use this stuff, please please donate.
