For many years Escapade has been a con I never missed. I'm missing it this year and a lot of other "usual attendees" are also missing it this year. January 2025 is just a tough time for con attendance this year and that is reflected in Escapade putting out a call to bolster this year's attendance or to help the con in other ways.

Escapade is the world's longest-running annual slashcon! Let's keep it that way!

I have a long history with attending Escapade in California, the world's longest-running slashcon. Sadly, I missed Escapade's 34th year earlier this month, but thanks to being informed by

devilc, I know that I was well-remembered. My absolute dedication to dSC6D fandom is well-known and I am both appreciated and feared as a relentless bidder at Escapade's annual auction -- fen know that if I want an auction item enough I will not be outbid. So what

devilc told me is that at the auction the auctioneer said "The best way to participate in this year's auction is to pretend that you are

ride_4ever and we just brought Paul Gross on stage to auction him off...." And then

devilc said that I was also mentioned again when vidders put up vids for auction (I previously made Escapade auction history with my four-digit winning bids on vids by

luminosity).

Escapade Vid Show - Call for Vids!

Over the past 27 years, the Escapade vid show has been managed by such amazing fans as Kandy Fong, Katharine S., feochadn, and Killa. This year it will be curated and assembled by smutcutter, with onsite production by feochadn and vidder outreach by me.

Please consider sending your new (or nearly new) vids to be included in the Escapade 2018 vid show. Slashy or shippy vids especially welcome (gen also accepted). Recent Festivids participants very much encouraged to participate!

The deadline for vid upload is 2/5/18.

Vidders attending Escapade get to see your vids on the big screen (and bask in the applause), but if you can’t make it to the convention, you will still be acknowledged at the vid show, and you will be sent a copy of the convention DVD.

I'm registered for the Escapade Slashcon for March 10-12 and the ConneXions Slashcon for July 21-23.

I'm also going to the TGIF/F Slashcon (a new femslashcon) for April 7-9, but registration hasn't opened yet.

Is anyone from my flist attending any of these?

The Escapade Con Team asked the membership to fill out a survey of what shows and pairings those who are attending are into right now, and there were 63 responses to the survey. One respondent said due South and the one pairing cited was Fraser/Vecchio.
