I try to be all squee and no rant in my LJ and DW, but after months of this inability to post C6DVD pics -- yes, that's right, pics from Valentine's Day 2015 -- I'm going to have a moment's rant.

There's a C6DVD creation of mine that I want to post to AO3 and there's a card from Turnbull to Fraser that turned up on my desk at work about which I want to blog in my LJ and DW...but I have been unable to get the pics off my smartphone no matter how many icons I click or how many resets I try.

Today I took my phone to my service provider's headquarters, and they told me the way for me to access the pics is to buy a new phone and take the memory card out of my current phone and put it in the new phone.

*facepalm*

TREAT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, BELATEDLY.

A valentine for Constable Fraser from one of his RCMP colleagues ended up on my desk at work in late February and I really should have done something about it more promptly (have not, FRTDNEATJ, but involve trouble with posting pics).

Participating in this year's C6DVD exchange (Canadian Six Degrees Valentine's Day), a completely handmade valentine from Renfield Turnbull to Francesca Vecchio showed up in my mailbox. Upon opening the envelope, glitter came wafting out and then I removed this card that's shaped like an oven mitt and decorated with hearts.

When opening the card, it looks like two oven mitts holding a tray of chocolate chip cookies. At the top it says "I Love" and at the bottom it says "Miss Francesca Vecchio, Be My Valentine?" and "Yours, Renfield xoxo".

Then each of the cookies has writing underneath, listing the things that go with "I Love" : "your voice, your kind nature, your sparkling eyes, your mischievous heart, your wit and determination, everything about you".

Got my camera fixed, so here are the images of the Joe/Billy C6DVD that I received. It's a valentine from Joe Dick to Billy Tallent, a store-bought card (and I assume that Joe was either drunk-shopping or sober-and-ironic or drunk-shopping-ironic when he bought this Peanuts card) with an insert of this Joe/Billy pic, and the handwritten text is as follows :

Hey dickhead, I saw this picture and it made me think of you. I hear you're fooling around with girlie bands down there in Hollywood. Probably picking up all kinds of cooties. Look, I don't care what you do in yr spare time. But you remember what the real thing feels like, and you know it isn't out there in LaLa Land. I'm working on a brilliant plan for a reunion concert. You're going to love it. Not just us -- a lot of the old bands. New bands too, if they make the cut. All you have to do is show up. Just a one-night stand if that's what you want. But you need to get in touch with the real true hard core of it one more time. Yr buddy, Joe.

Been having camera problems all week and might not get the camera fixed or replaced for a couple weeks, so the picture of my received C6DVD will be posted later. For the C6DVD card exchange run by mizface, here's what I had RayK send to Fraser (sent inside an envelope addressed to my assigned recipient).

This envelope is addressed from Ray in Chicago to the actual postal address of the Ulukhaktok RCMP Detachment in the NWT, with the proper U.S.-to-Canada postage for that era.

What Ray wrote :

Hey, Frase, surprised that I'm writing to you? I mean, we've talked on the phone every week all these months since we ended the Franklin's Hand thing and I came back here to Chicago. And you ask me every time how I'm doing and I say everything is greatness here. Well, it's like I told you at the beginning -- "I was a con job then and I'm a con job now". And afraid. Afraid to say something too true on the phone -- that I'd be saying stuff the wrong way and then I'd be listening to you freaking out and that would suck, or else that I'd be saying stuff the right way and then listening to you freaking out and that would suck even worse. So, you know way back what I said to you about the Northwest Areas and how wilderness makes me come down with a skin condition -- well, I saw this card and I thought yeah, like this card, and I'm gonna level with Fraser NOW. Wilderness or anywhere with YOU, I'm a happy camper. Without you, everywhere is suckitude. And that time I said "I love you, Fraser" and then I said "not literally, I mean symbolically or something" -- that's not how I'm saying it here.

The inside of the card has monkeys that pop up off the page on springs, and the handwritten text is : ~~Frase~~ Ben, I got this card cause it made me think of when we first met. And how I thought you were the most infuriating man on the planet. I still think that sometimes, but there's a reason I spent the last five years in Canada and not Chicago. I never really thought we'd find the damned hand of Franklin. But I found you, and that's better anyway. Well okay I suppose I found you a lot earlier if you wanna be niggly about it but you know what I mean. This is getting real corny. I'll shut up now. Happy Valentine's Day. I love you. Ray
