Today, April 2nd, is World Autism Awareness Day and the whole month of April is National Poetry Month so today I bring you a poem by Adam Wolfond, a Canadian non-speaking autistic poet, artist, and book author. (You can read more about his life and accomplishments at his website.)

EROS OF BATHING STIMMING DANCING PACING

Mostly I want to rake in the people
to understand the ways of pacing real thoughts
the feeling way

pace pace pace the talking
and type type type the thinking

and the two will rally
and become

Pace names the ways of thinking
and typing feels the ways of pacing

every string games
the perfect love in movement
in real relation
with inspirational rights
of people like me

Having the lust dancing in giving life to feel
the names of categories dancing
out of bounds
is amazing to play

and I get a thrill guessing
the way people will respond
to me and my open
languaging

language is the pavement answering
the way and I am the water
bathing and living
lustfully

Main idea in the eros of autism is the pace
dancing so I feel
fantastic like rallying ocean waves
carrying me like a boogie
board of puttering
on top of the warm water

Mind is lavishing
in the ideas in the eros
pacing
give me some examples

Love the power I have been bathing autistically
and living stimming dancing

the pacings
opening that field of thinking toward
artful liberation

from people who think autism is a problem
and janitors of diversity
live in that world

where simple cleanup
is bigger problem

lusting real ludicrous idea
that we need clean perfect people

I fastly make need
jumping always
on the page

My first time writing in this fandom. This poem was inspired by, written at, and performed at my first TGIF/F con in 2017 and so I gift it to jarrow because he was one of two who made TGIF/F known to me, and I gift it to anoel for being the other of the two.

For this year's due South Canadian Six Degrees Big Bang mific wrote and illustrated a wonderful F/K fic of adventure, danger and romance titled
In Which Ray and Fraser Go in Search of the Hand of Franklin ; I wrote a complementary piece for it titled Twelve Questing Pieces. Both of these fics are rated mature-to-explicit and with no applicable archive warnings.

Mific's 25,325-word work will appeal to a wide readership while I expect that my 1,121-word work -- being both poetry and unconventional format -- will have a rather limited readership. The unconventionality is that for each of the twelve chapters of the original fic I wrote a chapter in a poetry form, selecting and arranging them chapter by chapter in a specific order to create an acrostic that spells out FRANKLIN HAND.
