I haven't tested the newest in-beta version of DW yet, so I can't fairly say anything about it (other than "ugh, I just don't like tech changes to things that have been working fine for me for years and to which I'm accustomed").
Click here for the link to the beta test info posted by
denise in dw news.
I would like to see comments here from fen who have tested this beta version! What do you think? What did you like? What did you not like?

Date: 2023-11-09 05:05 am (UTC)Sure; thank you for offering. I have been suggested to CSS-customize the style myself or experiment with different site skins.

Date: 2023-11-09 05:09 am (UTC)Tropospherical Red. It was always the easiest for me to read.
[edit] Since I suspect it may also be relevant, I interact with DW via Firefox on a MacBook Pro, not a phone or other mobile device.

Date: 2023-11-09 05:15 am (UTC)But now I am laughing a bit hysterically, because Tropo Red will send me fleeing from my keyboard with nausea, I live in Gradation Horizontal, which probably will make you miserable.
...celerity, maybe?
Would it be helpful if I went and took screenshots of the inbox in each skin so you don't have to interact with your settings over and over?

That's very kind. I don't know if it will fix the crowding problem, but it would be informative to see the differences. Thank you. I would rather be able to keep the current skin, but my memory from 2020 before I desperately reverted all changes is that no amount of tinkering with fonts in Firefox could keep me from verging on migraine.

Date: 2023-11-09 05:48 am (UTC)Your HTML looks like it held for all of the skins; thank you. I don't know that any of it feels like a solution to me, but I appreciate having the visual information and the input of your time.

Date: 2023-11-09 08:16 pm (UTC)I tend to use Ctrl-(+) or Ctrl-(-) to increase or decrease font sizes because I've found it works in pretty much every browser - of course that only works on laptop/PC, not phone.
My eyes are aging just like the rest of me so on my phone, my system settings are to Large or Extra-large fonts or 125%-150% of the original font size. It can make things look wonky, but between "wonky I can read" vs "wonky I can't read", the former wins every time.
Thank you again!

Date: 2023-11-09 05:17 am (UTC)Oh, I also exclusively interact with DW on Firefox, though I'm on a Windows machine with a 17" or 24" monitor, not mac. I can vaguely make DW work on my phone but no I need a keyboard.
