In all these many years in fandom which have included sending and receiving postal letters and packages I just never thought to blog about it, and lately I see members of my DW Circle doing so and have decided that I too will start doing this. So...thank you kindly to dine and james for sending me postal mail in February. (The local post office -- well, TWO local post offices actually -- thwarting my attempts to send you "vintage" postcards. I'll be trying yet a third post office in the week ahead.)

What is the post office's problem with postcards? I went to Denmark and Spain last year and was surprised at how Kafkaesque and neigh-on impossible it was to send postcards from Denmark. (Or any mail, apparently. They're too far ahead in the future!)

So I had to send all my postcards from Spain (there were a lot) and the cost of it was astronomical. I thought, never again! Which made me sad because I really like receiving postcards when people travel. :(

It's part of the postal system's new hiring agenda: "hire the incompetent".
