Yeah, it's one of the highlights from any fic challenge I've ever participated in; I don't think anyone does that anymore.

Well, I started writing fic in 2011 and have not seen that, so yes, I would sadly say it is Not A Thing in current fic challenges.

I think it would be a thing for a smaller fandom maybe but not any of the big ones.
