Blood Ties, yes! Who recced this to me?

Someone in my DW Circle or my LJ Flist recced the Canadian TV show Blood Ties to me. Now I've watched it and I want to comment to them...and I thought I saved their rec to "memories" but I didn't. If that reccer reads this, please LMK. (Also, anyone who wants to comment to me about this show, feel free to do so.)

Tanya Huff is pretty fannish and it seeps into her novels so that's fun.

Yeah, now I want even more to read those Tanya Huff novels.

Also, I'm going to have a chance to meet Christina Cox (star of Blood Ties and who also appeared on due South) in Toronto this summer. (I know I'm repeating myself here, but good things bear repeating.)

I've never seen Blood Ties but I'm a fan of hers from Better than Chocolate and Nikki and Nora. I loved the Enchantment Emporium and really need to read the other two in the series.

I've seen those listed in her filmography but haven't gotten hold of them yet. Do you rec them strongly enough for me to buy them? (I already checked the local library system for them, and there's only one copy of Better than Chocolate, so with only one copy that library won't interlibrary loan it, and I couldn't find any copies of Nikki and Nora.)

If you find them super cheap somewhere and you're a big fan of hers, sure. They were fine but not stand out quality under normal circumstances but it was and to some extent still is so hard to find lgbtq content that's not heavy or depressing that they were both enjoyable on that level.

Looks like YouTube has clips from Nikki and Nora...basically if you want Rizolli and Isles to actually hook up, you'll enjoy it. Better than Chocolate is $3.99 to rent in SD from youtube
